Introduction
TrustedHomeService (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website trustedhomeservice.com. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding your personal information.
Information We Collect
Information you provide: When you use our service to find a home service pro, we collect your zip code and the service category you’re interested in. On pages where you submit a quote request, we also collect your name, email address, phone number, street address, and city, state, and ZIP code.
Information collected automatically: We collect standard analytics data including pages visited, time on site, referring URL, browser type, device type, your IP address, and approximate location (city-level) via cookies and similar technologies.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Connect you with our partner Thumbtack to help you find local home service pros
- Submit your quote request to LeafGuard (through our partner Vize) and, when LeafGuard is unable to take your request, to Modernize and up to four home improvement companies, so they can contact you about your project
- Verify and document your consent to be contacted, using TrustedForm (operated by ActiveProspect)
- Improve the performance and user experience of our website
- Measure the effectiveness of our content and advertising
- Comply with legal obligations
Sharing Your Information
Thumbtack. When you click a service tile or “find a pro” link on our site, you are directed to Thumbtack, which has its own privacy policy. Any information you provide to Thumbtack is governed by their privacy practices, not ours. We pass anonymous session tracking data to Thumbtack for attribution purposes.
LeafGuard, Modernize, and home improvement companies. When you submit a quote request form, we share the information you provide (name, email, phone, address, city, state, ZIP) with LeafGuard through our partner Vize. If LeafGuard is unable to take your request, we share that same information with Modernize and up to four home improvement companies, so they or their partners can contact you about your project. We receive compensation from these partners when we refer a request to them.
Advertising and analytics partners. For visitors who submit an accepted quote request, we send Meta (Facebook) a hashed (one-way encrypted) version of your email, phone number, name, and city/state/ZIP, along with your IP address and browser user agent, through Meta’s Conversions API. This helps Meta measure the effectiveness of our advertising without us sharing your information in plain text. We use TrustedForm (operated by ActiveProspect) to record your form session as proof of your consent to be contacted; this record may be shared with LeafGuard, Modernize, or the other recipients listed above to document consent.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Under some state privacy laws, including California’s, sharing information with advertising partners like Meta, or sharing a quote request with LeafGuard, Modernize, and other home improvement companies in exchange for compensation, may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. See “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” below for how to opt out.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve our website. This includes:
- Google Analytics, for site traffic measurement
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel and Conversions API, for ad effectiveness measurement; for accepted quote requests, the Conversions API sends Meta a hashed version of your name, email, phone, city/state/ZIP, IP address, and browser user agent
- TrustedForm (ActiveProspect), which records your form session as proof of consent
- Our own internal analytics and lead logs, which record form submissions and site activity for quality control and attribution
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work properly without them.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@trustedhomeservice.com.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Some state privacy laws give you the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information, including information shared with advertising partners like Meta or shared with LeafGuard, Modernize, and other home improvement companies in connection with a quote request. To opt out, email us at hello@trustedhomeservice.com with “Do Not Sell or Share My Information” in the subject line, along with your name and the email or phone number you used when submitting a request. We will honor your request within the time required by applicable law. Opting out will not affect quote requests you have already submitted.
